Nordex Group Secures 50 MW Turbine Order in Germany from wpd

News

Nordex Group has received orders for nine Delta4000 series wind turbines from wpd, a developer and operator of wind and solar farms, for three projects in Germany. The total capacity of the order is 50 MW, and it includes long-term maintenance for the turbines over 20 years.

wpd, founded in 1996, develops and operates wind and solar projects globally with a portfolio of 3,192 MW and a pipeline of 19,320 MW. Nordex Group has installed over 53 GW of wind capacity in 40+ markets, specializing in onshore turbines for regions with limited space and constrained grid capacity.

wpd has ordered turbines for three wind farms in Germany: one for Kalletal in North Rhine-Westphalia, and four each for Diepholzer Bruch in Lower Saxony and Gnutz in Schleswig-Holstein. Delivery and installation are planned for 2025.

Nordex and wpd have previously collaborated on projects in Germany, as well as in France, Sweden, and Finland. Felipe Villalon Waldburg-Zeil, Director of Sales for Nordex Group, commented, “We are pleased to continue our collaboration with wpd, receiving orders for 50 MW in Germany.”

Dr. Hartmut Brösamle, Managing Director of wpd GmbH, added, “We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with Nordex, and we are optimistic about the positive impact of recent political decisions on our projects in Germany.”
