BayWa r.e. to provide asset management services for Greencoat UK Wind’s wind portfolio

BayWa r.e. has signed a long-term framework agreement with Greencoat UK Wind, the leading renewable infrastructure fund, managed by Schroders Greencoat, to provide technical asset management services for its 14 wind farms acrossEngland and Scotland, 9 of which have been retained and extended.

The 10-year framework agreement will see BayWa r.e. servicing a total of 406 MW of power across all 14 sites, comprising of 8 sites in Scotland and 6 in England. Combined, the wind farms will power around 143,700 homes.

BayWa r.e. provides comprehensive technical management services for a range of wind energy partners and supports in areas as diverse as monitoring operations at our 24/7 control centre to scheduling onsite services and compiling company reports.

Dickson Leung, Asset Manager at Schroders Greencoat, commented: “We are delighted to sign this long-term framework agreement. Established in 2009, Schroders Greencoat is one of the world’s largest pureplay renewable infrastructure managers and provides a global conduit for institutional capital investing in renewables. Greencoat UK Wind is listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2013 and has a portfolio of 49 UK wind farms with a net generating capacity of 2 GW.
